The district of Chinde, in the province of Zambezia (Mozambique), was one of the areas most affected by the Idai Cyclone a year ago.
Mani Tese, with the project “Food assistance for assets – FOOD EMERGENCY AFTER THE IDAI CYCLONE” financed by the World Food Program, therefore intervened in this area to improve the living conditions of the population by providing basic necessities and relaunching production activities.
However, reaching around 4,000 families to donate them corn, beans and oil is not easy and, due to the Coronavirus emergency, it is even more complicated.
In fact, to guarantee the safety of the beneficiaries and the staff, it is necessary to adopt various measures to contain the infection, such as social distancing, face protection with masks, hand washing and sanitation of food packages (see photos).
