Mani Tese and ICEI, which collaborate in the “Quelimane agricola” and “FORESTS” projects, in recent weeks have delivered materials for the awareness and prevention of coronavirus in various communities in the province of Zambezia (central Mozambique), where unfortunately Covid cases- 19 are increasing rapidly.

In detail, bicycles equipped with megaphones were distributed to inform the population, in Portuguese and Chuabo (local language), on how to prevent the virus and where to go in case of suspected infection. The same messages were also broadcast on two radio stations that were very popular in the area, Rádio Zambeze FM and Nova Rádio Paz.

Other beneficiaries, who live in remote areas but have a cell phone at their disposal, were instead reached by SMS information on Covid-19 and will share the information received with their families and neighbors. Finally, masks were distributed that were sewn by Quelimane tailors in compliance with the indications of the WHO and the Mozambican Ministry of Health.
