As documented at the beginning of May, even with the Coronavirus, the distribution of food continued in the district of Chinde (Mozambique) where we are active with the project “Food assistance for assets – FOOD EMERGENCY AFTER THE IDAI CYCLONE” financed by the World Food Program.
The project has as its main objective the supply of basic necessities to 4,000 families in the district of Chinde. Now, the distribution of food also becomes an opportunity to raise awareness among the population on the measures to be taken to prevent Covid-19 which, unfortunately, is increasingly widespread in the country.
In recent days, in particular, the confirmation of the first cases of Covid-19 in the Province of Zambezia, one of the poorest areas of the country where we operate historically, is news.
Mani Tese, however, does not stop and, amidst many difficulties also linked to the rains that recently hit the area, it also reached the island of Maria where 80 families benefiting from the project live. In the photos you can see some moments of the meeting with the beneficiaries who are now in the habit of wearing a mask or covering their face with a handkerchief.
